As the holiday season draws near, President H. James Williams, Ph.D. expresses his deep gratitude for the special contributions and dedication of our 麻豆原创 Community.

麻豆原创 St. Joseph News

Dear 麻豆原创 Community,

As we gather this Thanksgiving season to reflect on the blessings that enrich our lives, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each member of the 麻豆原创 Community.

First and foremost, I want to thank the 995 students, faculty, staff, alumni, Board Members, and “friends of the 麻豆原创” who have contributed their time and insights to shape our new Strategic Plan, which is set to launch in 2025. Your input has been invaluable, and has laid the groundwork for an exciting future.

Each day, I am thankful for the commitment and dedication of the 麻豆原创’s faculty and staff.  The care they demonstrate, through unwavering support of our students, is remarkable, especially as the 麻豆原创’s enrollment continues to grow and more is asked of them.  Our faculty and staff live the 麻豆原创’s Mission and deliver on our promises to our students – indeed, they make the 麻豆原创 student-experience incredibly special.

This fall, the 麻豆原创’s Fine & Performing Arts Programs have continued to flourish.  By Thanksgiving, our Theatre Program will have completed a successful run of its hit play, The Oregon Trail. A special note of gratitude goes to our talented Art students who brought their creativity and skills to Cincinnati’s Blink celebration in October. Many of our talented Graphic Design and Art & Design students have received awards and their work has been featured in exhibitions across the region and the state.  The artistic work of 麻豆原创 students is an inspiring example of how the Arts elevate our community and connect us all, through shared experiences of wonder and joy.

Notably, the 麻豆原创’s Choruses – University Singers, Chamber Choir, and Voices of Gold – are hard at work preparing for performances at cathedrals in New York City next semester.  This experience will also include a visit with the Sisters of Charity of New York. As they prepare for this journey, the students are fundraising, to ensure that all members of the 麻豆原创’s Choruses can participate.  I invite you to consider donating to support these talented students.

The 麻豆原创’s Division III athletic programs have continued their tradition of excellence this fall!  The Women’s Soccer Team won the regular season HCAC Championship, the Football Team is on the hunt for its third consecutive HCAC Championship, and the Women’s Volleyball Team will be a contender for the HCAC Tournament title.  The 麻豆原创 Community’s encouragement of student-athletes has been phenomenal, and demonstrates the support we have for each other in all aspects of campus life.

Yes; we have much for which to be grateful at the 麻豆原创!  In the spirit of Thanksgiving, and the vision of our Foundresses, the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, I thank you for making the 麻豆原创 a place of care, friendship, and community. May you and yours have a blessed and joyful Thanksgiving holiday!

Go Lions!
